Keep the old AdWords interface!

The AdWords Editor tool does not accept data in the format "Google AdWords Guide ** 0.75 ** http://www.AdwordsCampaign.net ** #2-3". The "Edit Keywords and Bids" textbox in the previous interface does, and saves a HUGE amount of time and effort. After I contacted Google about this, I heard from them today. They said that they’d suggest to the product team to include this functionality in the new "Add keywords" textbox, which is currently VERY basic. If and when it’ll happen, though, is anyone’s guess.

The tool I use (AdWords Campaign Manager) generates bulk upload data in all formats. You can do certain things in the old interface that you cannot do in AdWords Editor, and vice-versa. Being able to use both is just perfect. The old interface should therefore remain available always.

The new interface may be easier to navigate, but it is useless for bulk upload of many keywords with different "weighted" bids and URLs. The old interface is there and has great functionality of its own. Why not just leave it there? What’s the harm? Users should be given the choice.

    Interesting point, that.

Whenever I run a bulk update of keywords, bids, positions etc, I use the Adwords Editor.

This can be copied straight from an Excel spreadsheet, and allows you to see the updated changes before going live.

But it's a little unusual for Google to remove useful functionality, so I suspect that it will be changed soon...
